This notice explains how I, Hui Min, handle information in connection with Ink Swift (inkswift.life). I operate this site as a personal blog — not as a company, not as a data broker, and not as a marketing platform. I aim to collect as little as possible and to be plain about what happens when you visit.

Who is responsible

I am the person responsible for this blog. You can contact me at [email protected] or by post at Blk 241 Serangoon Avenue 2, #06-18, Singapore 550241. There is no data protection officer because there is no organisation — just me, reading mail during quiet hours.

What this site is

Ink Swift is a static personal website. It does not offer accounts, checkout, newsletters with tracking pixels, or comment systems that profile you. Pages are written by hand and served as ordinary HTML. I do not run advertising networks on these pages and I do not sell space to third parties.

Information I receive directly

If you email me, I receive whatever you choose to put in your message — your address, your words, perhaps your name. I read it on my own devices. I do not feed it into a customer-relationship machine. I keep correspondence only as long as it seems useful to remember our exchange, then delete it in the ordinary course of tidying.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, mine may be served through a hosting provider that records basic server logs — IP address, browser type, time of request, pages requested. I use those logs only to keep the site running and to understand aggregate traffic, not to build individual profiles. I do not combine server logs with email content.

Cookies and similar technologies

I use a small consent cookie named sg_blog_consent, mirrored in localStorage as cookie_consent_v1, so the banner remembers your choice for about six months. Essential storage is required for that memory. Functional storage controls whether embedded Google Maps iframes load immediately or show a placeholder until you allow them. I do not use analytics cookies on this site. Full detail lives on the Cookies page.

Embedded maps

Every page includes a Google Maps embed centred on my broader neighbourhood, not on my flat door. When you allow functional content, Google may process technical data according to its own policies. I do not receive your map interactions. If you reject functional cookies, maps stay hidden behind a placeholder until you choose otherwise.

Legal basis (Singapore PDPA framing)

For consent-based tools — functional map embeds — I rely on your choice via the cookie banner. For essential operation — serving pages, remembering consent — I rely on legitimate interest in running a basic personal site. I do not process sensitive categories deliberately. If you are under thirteen, please ask a parent before emailing me; I do not target children.

Retention

Consent records persist for six months unless you clear them sooner. Server logs rotate on whatever schedule my host uses — typically weeks, not years. Email is kept only while the conversation matters to me. I do not archive visitors into mailing lists.

Sharing

I do not sell personal data. I do not share it with advertisers. The only recipients are service providers that make the site exist — hosting, domain registration — and Google when you load a map you have permitted. Those providers act under their own terms.

Cross-border transfers

My hosting and email may involve servers outside Singapore. When that happens, it is because the internet is distributed, not because I am running an international data business. I choose providers who publish reasonable security practices.

Security

I use HTTPS where available, keep software updated on machines I control, and do not store passwords on this static site because there is nothing to log into. No system is perfect; I mitigate sensibly for a one-person blog.

Your choices

You may refuse non-essential cookies via the banner or the Manage control on the Cookies page. You may email me to ask what I hold about you from direct correspondence. You may ask me to delete an email thread. I will comply unless I must keep something for a legal reason — a bar I expect rarely to meet here.

Links to other sites

If I link outward, that destination has its own privacy practices. I do not control them. I link sparingly and prefer plain text references.

Changes

When I change this notice, I update the date above. Material changes will also be mentioned on the Cookies page if they affect storage categories. Continued reading after a change means you have seen the new date, not that I assume agreement to anything beyond what the law requires.

This is a personal blog. Everything here reflects my own experiences, opinions, memories and impressions. The notes are personal reflections, not professional, medical, legal, financial or news-reporting advice. Where a note touches a serious event nearby, I only describe what I heard or saw from my end of the street — never as reporting. If I have got something wrong, please tell me and I will fix it.
